NatD promotes lung cancer progression by preventing histone H4 serine phosphorylation to activate Slug expression
Journal: Nature Communications (2017)
Institution: Nanjing University
Research Areas: Cancer research
Cell Lines: human lung cancer cells (Two independent, stable NatD knockdown human lung cancer H1299 cell lines developted by the authors)
Summary: The authors report that NatD (N-α-acetyltransferase D) promotes the migratory and invasive capabilities of lung cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. On the other hand, depletion of NatD suppresses the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of lung cancer cells. These findings indicate that NatD is a crucial epigenetic modulator of cell invasion during lung cancer progression.
