Sahlgrenska Acquires Second HoloMonitor System

After an initial purchase by Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research acquires a second HoloMonitor system. The fully equipped system was recently installed at the research center.

Within every cell in our body, there is a class of genes that controls cell growth. These genes are known as oncogenes. When an oncogene mutates, it can become hyper-activated and lead to uncontrolled cell division and tumors. In greater detail, the acquired HoloMonitor system will allow scientists at the cancer center to study the behavior of living cells and the effects of mutated oncogenes.

Sahlgrenska Center for Cancer Research is a joint effort between the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg and the Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The center focuses on patient-centered research to improve cancer care by facilitating new scientific discoveries and translating these into clinical practice.
