Summary: Cell viability in the presence of dyes in the centromeres was verified by measuring cell morphology of Drosophila S2 cells using a holographic microscope (Holomonitor M4). images and measures cells without using invasive dyes or reagents. Using HoloMonitor, the authors proved that cells stay alive and continue to divide after staining them with the improved super-resolution dyes.
