Summary: After illumination and treatment with 1-Ga, A549 cells exhibited characteristics typical of apoptosis, spherical shape of the cells, chromatin condensation, and nuclear membrane irregularity. After incubation for 1 h, the authors found that the cells started to contract, the area decreased and the thickness increased.
