Ulleungdin, a lasso peptide with cancer cell migration inhibitory activity discovered by the genome mining approach
Journal: J. Nat. Prod. (2018)
Institution: Korea University of Science and Technology (UST)
Research Areas: Cancer Research
Cell Lines: A549 (Human lung carcinoma)
Summary: Ulleungdin, a new lasso peptide was isolated from Streptomyces KCB13F003. Structural analysis of ulleungdin, as well as cancer cell invasion and migration, were studied. Ulleungdin affects invasivity as measured by a transwell assay, while there was a low and not increasing cytotoxicity. Using HoloMonitor is was shown that Ulleungdin inhibited motility and migration of human lung carcinoma A549 cells. Increasing concentrations of Ulleungdin increasingly affected cell motility.
