What won the judges over?

The award nominees are judged by GHP’s independent in-house research team purely on merit and not on the number of votes received. In an interview they got to know us more:

What are PHI’s values and mission?

Our five core values at PHI are knowledge, testing everything, responsibility, trust and evolving. Those company values are the foundation of our products: intuitivity, versatility, and reliability.

Equipped with those values, our mission is to empower any lab to work cell-friendly by providing the next generation of innovative tools for non-invasive imaging and analysis of cells.

At PHI, we transform how scientists study living cells.

Based on our past and present, we look ahead to our future within regenerative medicine. We envision that PHI technology will be part of standard quality control within regenerative medicine to make regenerative medicine affordable, accessible, and safe for everyone.

What remarkable R&D projects run at PHI?

We are combining cell-friendly holography with fluorescence.

The HoloMonitor add-on fluorescence unit enables medical research laboratories to analyze the all-important genetic activity of individual cells as they multiply in a cell incubator — without the detrimental effects associated with conventional fluorescence microscopy.

What makes PHI a stand-out player within the Biotechnology sector?

We are an innovative Swedish MedTech company rooted in science and expertise in digital holographic microscopy and its applications for cell-friendly live cell imaging and analysis. Our products are made for and by biologists, and data obtained with HoloMonitor has already been published in over 250 peer-reviewed publications.

DHM is a novel method for the non-invasive analysis of living cells which is essential to pre-clinical research to obtain relevant and reproducible experiment results, which in the end, will lead to safer and more cost-effective drug development, disease treatments or cures.

With our experience and expertise in DHM, we have entered the field of regenerative medicine. We want to make indispensable imaging techniques available for the automation of advanced quality control in large-scale biomanufacturing of regenerative therapies.

What aspects of PHI would you consider to be most award-worthy?

Our DHM technology enables researchers to unlock previously hidden insights about their cell cultures in a non-invasive way. Here is an example of how this novel method was key to research results for Dr. Robert Judson-Torres at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah.

Based on our past and present, we look ahead to our future within regenerative medicine, where we develop our non-invasive technology for cell quality control in regenerative medicine.

We stepped towards our future within regenerative medicine.
